We haven't gone in a few years and last year the whole event was moved to downtown Seattle with the fair at the space needle. The sun finally came back and warmed up the northwest and I was happy to thaw out with a forecast of 80* sounded nice but the forecast just keeps rising and now we are looking a high of 95* to kick of the summer fun.

We made a plan to go withcali111 before the forecast spiked to the mid 90's.
I even washed the car yesterday. Damn! I don't feel so good today.

Iron Man was not too bad:)

A little more war based reality than I was ready for but the story line was good and Robert D Jr 's well I think he has
A spent his free time at the gym or
B the graphic designers did some personal touch ups

I have to say the flying Iron man costume was very cool:) And this movie is full of action from start to finish!

We saw Avenue Q ( the musical ) . I was pretty impressed with the cast but the story line was a little well average. Like a B movie about a young man coming of age. I did had a touch of a headache and that may have affected my appreciation of this production.

Back popping good times

I just had my first visit with the chiropractor my neurologist recommended and now I really hurt. Is that normal? I am not sure that ... no I know that I did not enjoy the act of letting her pop my neck, back and mess with my spastic leg but is this treatment supposed to be enjoyable?

I had scheduled another appointment before I left but then canceled it today. The Dr called back and got me to reopen my scheduled appointment. I am not feeling great about this...but maybe I am just being a wimp.

So just past noon and the indoor temp is up to 72*F and I started the AC. After looking on line for info about central air I am thinking about talking to the natural gas provider we have to get recommendations of which unit we should be looking at.

With the sun comes organic weed/grass killing spray and our drive way needs it. I can get the other broad leaf pest on cooler days. I am actually taking my OCD behavior out on my yarn as I try to learn to crochet.

My plan today is to paint and finish that directory I started working on at Christmas. I am so tired dealing with that book!

ACed and read to go

It took a bit but I got the AC hooked up. Ahh cool air. It is not that hot yet but the end temp for today looks like 89*F!! It is 62 in house right now but I am wondering if I should turn the AC off now or not. It is easier to keep a cool home cool than to try and get a warm home to cool down. Our AC is not that strong. Maybe I will wait for it to get to 70* before I turn it back on.:\

I am thinking we might should take the leap and get central air.

6 am and no place to go

Yesterday was a Tysabri day. I had been feeling a little closer to the MonSter and was hoping a treatment would energize me. After sleeping form 12-5 and then passing out again at 10pm I woke up at 6 am feeling pretty good.
The local forecast is calling for warmer weather and since we have been trying to get above 50*F most people are excited to see the sun and start spring, but the forecast is predicting 85-90*F will be coming this week. Shite! I am going to melt. After waking up at 6 to a bright cloudless sun blazing through my window I am starting to take Jeff Brenner a little more seriously. I am thinking about starting the morning by watering some of our plants and trying to get M to set up the AC before she heads off to work.

In other T Time news the MS group meeting on Wednesday was fun. I had gotten a Master Gardener to come and speak about container gardening. Most member live in Apartments so I was hopping this would be a good fit. The speaker Julie Davis, was great and the group members were very interested in learning about plants and how to take care of them. Some times it is a shock for me to see that the speakers I find, on topics I choose, are interesting to the group. They can be a hard crowd to read but they can be great fun. Next meeting I am planning pizza and a movie-Lorenzo's Oil. The film is not exactly a feel good flick but I hope it will empower the members to be open to searching for treatments and cures that the general pharmaceutical industry is ignoring. Well what ever I hope it is empowering in some way. And I know the the pizza will be:)

I could have, should have taken some shots of my back yard but that might mean opening a door and it is just cold out there! BRRR
last night-when the snow was really falling-I heard some noise in my back yard and thought it must have been my neighbors tooling around after their two little pooches at 9pm. This morning Mandy opened the blinds to reveal our neighbors tree being supported by our bird bath. I just did not think the snow was that heavy.

Feeling very good today. Just had Tysabri treatment #18 and the future, my future is looking bright for the first time in ...9 years. I hope this lasts. For now I am starting to get a little stir crazy at home. I think I just need to get out and find my independence again. I looked at the local bus system and am going try it out on the 25th. Just a short trip down town but just the act of doing it myself should make me feel stronger.

My MS group is doing well. The new plans for the summer are master gardener talk, watch a movie-Lorenzo's Oil- and have pizza, massage therapist. I am thinking about looking into a new idea about art and PT or really using art as PT. I am trying to get away from the focus on MS and move toward looking at the act of living. Not that I want to deny people a place to get the support of a group that shares their fears and pains but I am trying to encourage smiling, laughing, and finding enjoyment in life again.

One step is to get the members to own this group as something they are responsible for and that they can chalk up as something they created. Not that I am leaving but I need a little more feed back as to what they want and need and me being a group leader is not opening up that dialog. They seem to be happy to let me search out the next new topic, speaker, and agenda.

More later my hands are getting a little tired.

The Directory

So I have been working on this directory that has a nice year book feel to it but this team thing is for the birds. I think it might be better if I were leading the team but for now I just need to find that nice place between assertive and aggressive, a place were I don't feel walked on but an not left in the dust to finish the entire project myself. It is not really all that tough I just wish I would have a had a better idea of the team members I was teaming up with. So the self appointed team leader is coming by tomorrow night to look at the pages I have put together and maybe add some of her own ideas. I need to be strong and not allow her to tear apart what I have finished and try to get me entrenched in a some new idea to add new photos. We are done and we need to send in our rough draft.
On a happy note I went to see my neurologist today and I am still feeling pretty good. I am even using all ten digits to post this. Five better than I have been able to use on most days. I went in to my PT last week and brought my cane (the kind with an arm cuff) to see if she thought it would be a good idea to use it at home and though I get the idea her general opinion is I am getting a little to risky, I think she was a little shocked at how well I was walk with just a one cane. I was shock myself. Sometime I think that my good days are just fleeting dreams that will fade with the new days light but it has been three or four days of just feeling good!
Broke into my itunes.
Choir is busy with the Holy days . Palm Sunday we sang at two services, good Friday we sing in the evening and then on Easter we sing at two services again. My next treatment is on the 20th. I may have to skip Fridays service. Well to sing anyway.

general update

So the last two or three days I have been feeling much better. I generally go between using a wheel chair, walker, or two canes for short trips on level ground. But just before my monthly PT appointment I picked up my single cane (the type that attach to your upper arm) and started using it around my home. Took it to my appointment and kind of shock my therapist because I was walking so well. I am also starting to use my right hand a little easier. Now I have noticed these improvements for moments and then I am back to barely typing with more than one digit from my right hand or using my walker to support more and more of my weight instead of using it as a guide for balance. I hope this sticks:) My next infusion is scheduled for the 20th.

My IMac has morphed into a PC

WOW. Done and Done.
Well it took the better part of a rainy day but, Fusion has brought me back into the oh so missed world of windows. Now I know there is a world full of those who just know that windows is the demon seed that spreads ill will across this fair nation but ... well i miss my publisher:(

Next I just need to get my new puter connected to the internet and install my printer. When I feel comfortable with this new down load I need to step on to the wild side and buy it. I forget how much I enjoy playing with publisher until I have to use it. I was lost in the world of text boxes and shades of background colors when I was last working on that picture book I am putting together. My old PC's outdated mechanics were making the experience too painful and slow.

Well really this morph is far from done. Tomorrow is another day. And hey the sun may peak but I will probably be lost behind my monitor :)

T times

I am more than happy to see the spring days stretch into longer, brighter days. The winter weather has left me feeling like a hermit. I have been feeling more energetic in last week or so, and I hope it will last into the summer. M and I are taking a short road trip this weekend to see my sis and her family. I looks like it may be a nice sunny weekend!!

I have been stressed watching the candidates go back and forth and have been struggling with who to support and why I am supporting them. I started out for Hillary and then slipped into the Obama Camp and now have settled on Mrs. H.R. Clinton. I want to believe that Barack Obama is as clean and true as his speeches but there are just to many things left unsaid. So I stepped back and looked at what each Presidential hopeful is really saying. Hillary may not be supporting gay marriage and I am a Lesbian who believes that Gay rights are civil rights, but I also firmly believe that without the support of the people (even the ones in the red states) the constitution would be at risk of having a defense of marriage act added. More than that why does everyone hate her? I have heard she is too strong, not strong enough, or she is polarizing and will in general not be elect able against....well anyone. I was listening to the words of the two different health care plans. Complete government health care is another thing I truly believe Americans should have access to and, after reading that Barack's plan is for decreasing the cost of premiums so that people can afford to get care but not requiring enrollment, because some people may not be able to afford coverage. How is that different than what we have today? I mean I work with Washington state insurance commissioner's on health care plans through SHIBA and I need to say we need to move health care coverage away from employers and make it something that is not contingent on a persons ability to work. I mean when you really get sick ... most people cannot maintain coverage. Currently it is all up to the states how much to subsidize health care plans for people who cannot afford to pay for it themselves. Washington's plans are OK but there is still a gap that is too large for many people. I hope who ever makes it to the big white house is real about health care.

I am currently trying to set up a picture album for the church I go to but having a hard time getting the photo's from members to fit in the templates for the pages. When I worked on my PC with publisher I could create pages in any shape I could think of and stretch the photo windows into unique shapes and with Adobe adjust the jpeg size of the files. On my new mac I am feeling very confined. Short of using software to make may mac a virtual PC I was wondering if anyone has ideas of how to create files without using word?

I maybe playing the last round of online scrabulous while we all wait, silently for the end of a great scrabulous network. How does yahoo scrabble work without upsetting Hasbro? I used to play a scrabble game online through yahoo(I thought) when I was online through my PC but yahoo games do not accept Mac OSX. ARGG What will I do with out this wonderful online word game? Well to easy my current stress I will be heading out to lose myself if Juno at the theater. Please send happy thoughts to M. If Verizon does not fix the online connections soon I am afraid we will be switching to Comcast. After calling the tech had me dump all my cookie through my safari server and reset. It seemed to do the trick.

Head Ache

So I am going on the fourth day of head pain. Whether this pain is originates from sinus, migraine, or my eyes, I am yet unsure. I have been juggling decongestants, Excedrin, and migraine meds. to dull the pain.
After watching the New Hampshire Debates last night I have renewed faith in Hilary. Obama is not a bad candidate at all but is he a better bet to invoke change?

My last infusion was on Thursday. Though I feel better now, I felt like a pin cushion until a nurse found a good vein. I am seriously interested in getting a port and interested in hearing any comments about peoples experience with these implants.
Other than the hunt for a vein that could take a 22 gauge needle this infusion was unremarkable. No head ache, blurred vision. I did feel a little tired after the infusion and took a 3 hour nap when I got home. My Right hand is typing a bit better today, yay, I hope that last for a while.

On other news I have had to put Travian to sleep. RPG are too addictive for me to manage and the last few days I was not really having fun at all. Well live and learn. I am looking for an interactive on line game (maybe scrabble) that I can play with this new MAC OSX. I used to play scrabble, chess and other yahoo games on my PC but yahoo is not set up to work with OS X systems. I see that MAC software games that came with this system are set to work online but I think you need to have friends that have macs. Do you know of any MAC games online?

Well the weather forecasters were spot on and we will have a few feet of frozen white dust outside today:) I did not think it was going to fall but at 1:00pm the white stuff started to fall. If is sticks I will post some pixs ;)
